About Shastonian 1967–1975
I created this site just to have more data about my time at Shaftesbury Grammar School (SGS) where I boarded from 1968-75.
The site was created from scans of the school magazine - The Shastonian - and largely with the help of AI (Claude).
Unfortunately parsing image-based magazine PDFs is not so easy, even for AI, and so there are numerous errors in the data, including the fact that I can't find the 1972 and 1974 magazines, which is a bummer.
The main purpose of the site is to enable other Old Shastonians who were at the school at this time to search on their name and get some kind of summary of what they accomplished during the period covered by the site - if anything!
As the data is less than perfect it's not ideal - in some cases the way data was presented changed from magazine to magazine so there are gaps in the data as a result.
But there are lots of pages of various data culled from the magazines that some people may find of interest.
